28/05/2012:  The U 14's had great win this evening in challenge match against Kilmihil 03 12 to 02 08.  The U14's have moved up a division this year to division 3 and if tonight's performance is anything to go by, they are well ready for it as Kilmihil are division 2.  It was 9 minutes in before the visitors opened with a point but the scoring was almost non stop from that point onwards.  Two minutes later Ryan Casey goaled to put Kildysart in the lead which they never relinquished.  David Cusack followed with a point 1 minute later but Kilmihil scored 2 unanswered points to leave just a goal between them at end of the first quarter. At the 16th minute, Aidan O'Loughlin threw his body on the line and stopped a goal from scoring. This was followed by two back to back points from captain Barry Crehan and 1 from Kilmihil.  Conor Donnellan finished off the half with a point to leave a goal between them 01 04 to 04 points.

Conor Donnellan started the second half where he left off with a point and this was followed almost immediately by a goal from Luke McGrath.  Kilmihil were denied a goal by the crossbar but were successful with the rebound to narrow the gap.  Stephen Sheehan scored a point but then Kimihil scored a goal and a point to leave only 1 point between the sides 02 06 to 02 05 at 10 minutes into the second half.  Seamus Casey pointed to extend the lead but suddenly 2 unanswered points had Kimihil level with 13 minutes remaining.  But the entire Kildysart team kicked it up a notch and Barry Crehan went on fire scoring a goal and 4 points within 5 minutes before Kilmihil added a point.  Seamus Casey added the last point for a final score of Kildysart 03 12 to Kilmihil 02 08. There was excellent defending by the backs, winning frees and setting up plays to keep Kilmihil off the scoreboard.

Team: Aidan O'Loughlin, Mikey Donnellan, Cormac Ginnane, Kieran O'Brien, Darragh Watson, Seamus Casey (0-2), Conor Donnellan (0-2), Stephen Sheehan (0-1), Ryan Casey (1-0), Luke McGrath (1-0), Aaron Slobody, Barry Crehan (1-6, 1 45'), David Cusack (0-1). Subs:  Jack Sheehan for R. Casey, Brian Meaney for L. McGrath.

Best for Kildysart:  Too close to call.
