11/09/2013:  In a game that would match last Sunday's All Ireland for its intensity and excitement, the U14's overcame the West Clare combo of Kilkee/Doonbeg to earn their spot in the Division 1 Shield Final. Playing in a steady mist under the lights didn't phase Kildysart as they led for the whole match and kept Kilkee/Doonbeg to only 1 point in the second half.

Kildysart led by 1-2 to no score by the 7th minute thanks to 2 frees from Dylan Power and Seamus Casey's conversion to the net of Stevie Sheehan's free.  Both sides scored a further two points when Kilkee/Doonbeg scored a goal to bring them within 2 points by the 19th minute. The remainder of the half saw each team add a point to their tally with Kildysart leading at the break 1-5 to 1-3.

In the opening minute of the restart, Stevie Sheehan shocked the West Clare side when he buried a free in the back of the net.  Kilkee/Doonbeg scored their last point in the 35th minute, trailing at the time by 5 points.  Mikey Donnellan played really well as wing forward and kept the ball moving up the pitch.  Darragh Watson, Jack Kirrane and Ryan Casey were formidable in the backs with Seamus Casey and Stevie Sheehan controlling mid field. Dylan Power was on target as usual with his free-taking.  Kildysart scored 4 points during the remaining time to win 2-10 to 1-4.  Kildysart play the winners of Gaels/Kilmihil v St. Breckan's which takes place on Sunday.
