20/07/012:  The U12's played a cracker of a match this evening and hung on to stave off Clondegad well into extra time.  Arriving at Clondegad with the bare minimum of players, Kildysart got off to slow start and put a lot of shots wide of the mark.  Clondegad were winning 2 nil when Seamus Casey, who scored all the points for Kildysart, got his first point in the 9th minute.  Clondegad pointed two more and then Seamus followed with two of his own to bring Kildysart within 1 point.  Then a Clondegad 45' fell short, was blocked down but not cleared and was kicked into the back of the net.  Kildysart found themselves down 01 04 to 3 points at the break.

Kildysart started the 2nd half with fire in the belly and amassed a goal and two points in the first 2 minutes to take the lead for the first time.  Clondegad retaliated with a goal and a point to put them ahead by a goal with only 6 minutes played.  Then Sarah McCann tucked the ball into the far corner of the net to bring the sides level once again with 11 minutes remaining on the clock.  Five minutes later Sarah McCann converted another long ball into her to a goal to give Kildysart the lead 03 05 to 02 05.  The sides swapped points and Clondegad got another to leave 2 points between them at the end of regular time.  Five minutes of extra time was played and Kildysart fought off Clondegad's sustained efforts, including an excellent save by goalie Conor Hassett.  Clondegad scored a point during extra time but were unable to get the elusive score and finally the whistle blew.  Final score: Kildysart 03 06 to Clondegad 02 08.  Best for Kildysart: Seamus Casey, Sarah McCann, Diarmuid O'Donnell, Darren Crehan.

Team: Conor Hassett, Patrick O'Connell, Darren Crehan, James Kelly, Cian Murphy, Sarah MCCann-captain (2-0), Diarmuid O'Donnell (1-0), Seamus Casey (0-6), Luke Kirrane, Kevin Meaney, Garry Murrihy, Paul O'Sullivan.
