03/09/14:  Kildysart U14s won the Division 3 County Championship this evening in resounding fashion having been the top team in championship all season. Tonight they were victors over a stubborn O'Currys with what the referee called a "hurling" scoreline of 5-19 to 3-10.  Despite the big scoreline, huge credit must go to the O'Currys goalie who made at least 8 goal saves, some at a very close range.

Kildysart had 5 on the board in about as many minutes before O'Currys opened their account. Kildysart added 3 more before Diarmuid O'Donnell raided the net for the first time putting Kildysart ahead 1-8 to 2 points. O'Currys struck back with a blast to the net but Kildysart were saved by the upright. The last 10 minutes saw a goal onslaught with O'Currys bagging 1 & Diarmuid O'Donnell, Seamus Casey, Stevie Sheehan doing to the damage for Kildysart. Score at half time Kildysart 4-9, O'Currys 1-5.

Kildysart went for points in the second half and slotted 10 over the bar with Stevie Sheehan getting the final goal for the Blues. O'Currys kept up their pace and had a good second half adding 2-5 to their tally. It wasn't enough though as Kildysart ran out winners 5-19 to 3-10.

Team: David Murphy, Cian Murphy, Darren Crehan, Conor Cusack, Conor Moloney, Seamus Casey (1-8, 2F),  Emmet McMahon(0-5), Patrick O'Connell, Stevie Sheehan (2-0), Paul O'Sullivan, Diarmuid O'Donnell (2-4). Subs: Conor Hassett (0-2), Fergal Ginnane, James Kelly, Kevin Meaney, JJ McQuaid

This is the second underage Championship title for Kildysart this year following on from the U16 county honours in July.  The club are delighted to see dividends from the underage development structure that was put in place in previous years.
