27/09/2015:  Kildysart claimed the Minor C crown today in resounding fashion beating the Banner 1-10 to 2-5 in a hard fought battle. Kildysart started well and were leading by 6 points up only to see the Banner draw level by the half.  The second half saw Kildysart lose the lead briefly but the team remained focused and clawed back in the front again.  Kildysart were the first on the scoreboard two minutes in when Stevie Sheehan rattled the net after a great run by Rory McMahon. Seamus Casey then pointed a free to extend the lead.  Goalie Aidan O'Loughlin made a great save at the 5th minute to keep the momentum with Kildysart.  Conor Donnellan started off the next score with a charge forward from the half back line which Kieran O'Brien popped over the bar, to give Kildysart a 1-2 to no score lead by the 6th minute.  Banner registered their first point from a free and kept threatening and Aidan O'Loughlin was called upon twice more but minded his goal well. Another point from Seamus Casey and 2 more from Banner had the Blues in front 1-3 to 3 points at the turn of the first quarter. Three more unanswered points from Kieran O'Brien, Seamus Casey and Stevie Sheehan and Kildysart were starting to pull away with 7 minutes left to half time. The Banner had other ideas and stunned Kildysart with 2 back to back goals within minutes to level it up at the break Kildysart 1-6, Banner 2-3.

Scoring in the 2nd half was at a much slower pace with long periods between scores.  Stevie Sheehan started the scoring at the restart but Banner put over 2 points causing Kildysart to be behind for the first and only time in the match.  Kieran O'Brien's point restored parity once more as the teams headed into the final quarter. Seamus Casey's fisted effort on the run put Kildysart in front where they stayed for the remainder of the match.  Banner had possession for a good portion of the remaining period but were unable to capitalise with 3 efforts going wide.  Captain Rory McMahon was instrumental in this period & throughout the match clearing ball and bringing it up the field. Stevie Sheehan gave Kildysart an insurance point at the start of injury time but Banner weren't giving up.  A tension-filled 3 minutes ensued for before the final whistle blew. Final score Kildysart 1-10, Banner 2-5.
