Intermediates on Top After Round 4

11/05/2013:  Kildysart Intermediates are on top of the Garry Cup league table after a 3 point win over O'Curry's in Doonaha 1-10 to 10 points.  Kildysart played with a strong breeze in the first half and clocked up 3 points within the first 5 minutes from Ger Kelly x2 and Keith O'Connor.  O'Curry's score was followed by a great score from play from Kieran Eyres and a frees from Damian Murtagh and Ger Kelly to give the Blues a 6 points to 2 lead at the end of the first quarter.  The second quarter saw a long ball in from Keith O'Connor fisted into the net by Keith Murphy.  Ger Kelly scored another free and O'Curry's added 2 more to leave the half time score in Kildysart's favour 1-7 to 4 points.
O'Curry's started strong at the restart with 3 points and Keith O'Connor added to Kildysart's tally resulting in a score of 1-8 to 7 points heading into the final quarter.  Two Ger Kelly frees gave Kildysart some breathing space but O'Curry's tacked on 3 more points leaving just a goal between them deep into injury time.  In all, 5 extra minutes were played and Kildysart held out to win 1-10 to 10 points. 
Kildysart have 3 home matches in a row starting on 25th May v Kilrush.  The are on top of the table with 7 points with Gaels & Kilrush tied at 6 and Clondegad with 5 points.
