09/08/2014:  The Intermediate team got their championship campaign back on track with a much deserved win over Corofin 14 points to 1-7.  The win follows their opening loss to Kilmihil, where despite a good second half performance they were unable to secure victory.  Kildysart dominated the first half with John Murtagh first on the board for Kildysart.  This was quickly cancelled by a goal from Corofin - but that would be their only real attack of the half. Kieran Eyres kicked 3 points (2 frees) over the next 10 minutes to put Kildysart back into the lead once more -which they held for the remainder of the match. The backs defended well to keep Corofin off the scoreboard with Rory McMahon giving an impressive debut for the adult team.  It took Corofin 20 minutes to get their 2nd score of the half.  Three points from Christy Clancy (2 frees) and 1 from Keith Murphy ensured Kildysart held the lead at half time 8 points to 1-1.  The first half was a physical encounter resulting in 5 yellows and 1 black card being issued.  Unfortunately for Corofin, the black card followed a yellow and Corofin were down a man from about 5 minutes before the half.

Kildysart started the half with 3 points (Keith Murphy x2, Ger Kelly-free) within the opening 5 minutes before influential Kieran Eyres was replaced by Noel O'Grady due to injury.  Corofin though started to rally and scored 3 unanswered points to leave the score Kildysart 11, Corofin 1-4 heading into the last quarter.  A point by Damien Hill and then 2 more by Corofin left only a goal between the sides before Kildysart's injury worries increased with Neilie O'Connor being taken off.  A point from Ger Kelly and impact sub Brian O'Sullivan steadied Kildysart.  Corofin scored the last point of the game with 6 minutes to go but were threatening for the remaining minutes.  Kildysart held on and were victors 14 points to 1-7.

The Intermediate championship is wide open with Kilmihil on 4 points and Kildysart and Corofin level at 2 points.  Kildysart face Kilmurray Ibrikane II in their next outing.  Corofin and Kilmihil will do battle and that result will have a huge impact on table standings.
