13/05/2018: An invigorated Kildysart secured their first win in round 3 of the O’Gorman Cup with a home win over Kilkee 2-18 to 0-6. The win was an important boost to the team ahead of their Garry Cup showdown with Kilrush in a fortnight’s time.

Ger Kelly got Kildysart on the scoreboard with a brace of points in the opening 3 minutes. Further scores from Kieran Eyres, Kieran O’Brien, Mikey Donnellan and Kelly gave Kildysart a 6 points to no score advantage before the sea-siders opened their account in the 21st minute. Kildysart goalie Paul O’Brien denied Kilkee a certain goal with a great save at close range, however the visitors got the last three points of the period after points from Kelly and Eyres brought the home side’s total to 8. Halftime score: Kildysart 0-8, Kilkee 0-5.

The second half was a high scoring affair with Kildysart adding 2-10, of which 1-4 came from the bench, while keeping Kilkee to a single point.
